Reception Briefing
The reception team is available at the office from 0600h-2400h. After hours the security is patrolling the grounds in case of emergencies.
You can make an international call at the reception during office hours for a fee of €1 per minute. There is a computer with internet access (modem) available for you all day in the reception for € 2 for 15 minutes. We also provide unlimited wireless internet access within a range of 7 meters from the reception for €20 a week.
In case of medical emergency we have a doctor on stand-by at Baro Medical just across the street. Our Hyper-baric chamber is one of the best medical facilities in the area, and you can feel assured that you are in safe hands to enjoy your holiday with peace of mind.
Check-in Procedure: Please prepare your passport and voucher before check-in. Please note that your passports will be kept upon check- in until your departure. Make sure to retrieve your passport after check-out. You can keep your valuables in the reception safe (free of charge) and we recommend that all our guests do so.
Check-Out Procedure: for flight confirmations you should bring your flight ticket at least two days before your departure.
Check out time:
Leaving before 1900h the check out time is between 0800h and 1200h- Leaving after 1900h the check out time is between 1200h and 1400h
Steps for check out:
- Deliver all rental equipment back to the dive center
- Confirm your diving extras (diving list) with the base leader. Diving list must be signed by base leader before check-out
- Deliver your diving list to the reception to settle your total bill
Payment:
- Upon arrival clients with pre-booked reservations have to submit their voucher indicating the services paid for. We recommend guests take cash (Euro) or traveler-checks with them for payment of any extras
- Divers will be charged € 7 for decompression-insurance (includes 3 days max. chamber treatment in case of diving accident, valid for 28 days)
- For cash payments we accept €, $, L.E., £ and Traveler Checks (€, $)
- 3% bank fee in L.E. will be added on payments with VISA or MASTERCARD
- All on site purchases and rentals are subject to 10% sales tax
- If you lose your room-keys you will be charged 30€
- You have the possibility to exchange currency to L.E. from the cash machine at Kahramana hotel
Full-board Service
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in our restaurant at the following times:
- Breakfast 0630h-0930h
- Lunch 1200h-1400h
- Dinner 1900h-2130h
If you have special dietary requests please contact the reception. Please be aware that it is not allowed to enter the restaurant with swim or dive-wear.
The cafeteria-team will provide you with all inclusive soft drinks, water and hot drinks (Nescafe/ tea) from 0530h - 2400h. We are trying to be as environmental friendly as possible and reducing our plastic use. To serve as a reminder of this very important message guests are asked to purchase an RSDS branded sport bottle upon arrival. If you don’t wish to participate you will receive one regular plastic bottle that you can refill at our dispensers during your stay. Bottles can be re-filled at any of the dispensers throughout the village. Regular bottled water can also be purchased at the cafeteria (€2 small – €3 large)
The cafeteria provides other beverages, snacks, and item such as; Turkish coffee, diet drinks, beer, chocolate, chips, ice cream, souvenirs, etc. These items will be billed to your cafeteria list and you pay them at check-out.
The cafeteria also sells small souvenirs, toiletries, and other items. If you can’t find what you are looking for in the cafeteria please ask the reception to drive you to one of the local markets. They are usually accepting foreign currency but it is a good idea to have Egyptian pounds in case.
Diving Center Briefing
The team of the dive center is at your service from 0600h-1700h. Before commencing any activities you must sign our medical statement and liability release and deliver it to the diving center. Please make sure that you bring your diving certificate, log book and equipment with you. The diving center will keep your diving certificate until check-out.
You will be assigned a box to store your diving equipment and a locker under the shade. For your first visit you will receive an orientation dive around the bay accompanied by one of the guides. This is definitely one of the most unique aspects of RSDS; the freedom to dive in buddy pairs at your own pace and at the time of your choosing.
Important Note: Certain dive sites such as Elphinstone are for advanced divers only. Please check with your dive guide if you are unsure about the suitability of a certain dive site.
Please remember:
- SMB and dive computer are mandatory for all divers
- Take care of our equipment and wash them after every dive
- Keep your dive computer with you and don’t leave it under the shade
- If water gets inside the regulator it will have to be serviced
- Don’t leave any equipment in the pool or sitting around overnight
- Only CMAS 2* under direct supervision of an instructor, CMAS 3* divers and deep dive specialist/technical divers are allowed to dive to 40 meters. For all other divers the maximum depth allowed is 30 meters.
Village Rules
- Never walk over the corals to access the beach. Enter the water from the designated area.
- Never swim, snorkel or dive in front of the jetty.
- Never dump trash or other items carelessly. All trash must be disposed of in designated bins.
- Never take or touch any living creature from the water including corals and shells. No fishing, harpooning, or spearing is allowed.
- No smoking inside guest rooms. Dispose of butts in an ashtray; never in the water or land.
- Never bring into the facilities offensive items, guns or other dangerous/illegal weapons, explosives, or illegal drugs and substances.
- Never annoy other guests or employees by playing loud music, using foul language, sexual or other unlawful or unwelcome harassment, or committing any other immoral offense against public decency or public order in your room or at our facilities.
- No Nudity.
- No wet clothing or swim suits are allowed in the restaurant or classroom.
- Never swim, snorkel, or dive under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Articles left behind and unreported will be disposed by management after 30 days.
